What to Do

  1. Move the fridge to where you do the spray paint fridge.
  2. With a degreaser, remove the grease, grime, and dust from the fridge’s surface before you get started.
  3. If you can spot scratches on the fridge or see rust at the bottom, then don’t begin to spray paint fridgebefore smoothing it off with 120- and 220-grit sandpapers, respectively.
  4. Clean the back of the unit with a vacuum cleaner to remove any dust that has collected there.
  5. Remove individual shelves, tray, or handles. If you can’t remove them, then use masking tape to cover them.
  6. Start by applying a light coat of the refrigerator spray paint. Don’t apply multiple coats at one time and wait for the first coat to dry off before applying the next one.
  7. Give the fridge a once over and touch up any areas that you missed when applying the second coat.
  8. After the second coat has been applied, allow it to dry.
  9. Turn the fridge over to the other side and spray paint that side too.
  10. Using 220-grit sandpaper, smooth any irregularities for an even finish.

When applying spray paint fridge, keep the can at least 30 cm away from the surface. Apply light coats and ensure that they are evenly applied. A lot of paint can result in drips and runs that will make a mess out of things.

Mix the contents in the can by shaking it vigorously every time you paint.
