Different Ways To Make Yourself Have an Adrenaline Rush

Adrenaline makes your heart race and it’s what many of us feel they need to have in order to feel alive. Not all the time, but at least every once in a while. What are the easy and not so expensive ways of getting enough adrenaline pumped into your body to feel the rush?

But before getting there, what is adrenaline and why does your body create it in the first place? Adrenaline is a stress hormone and your body starts to produce adrenaline when it goes into “fight-or-flight response in threatening environments”. And of course, adrenaline doesn’t only have a positive possible impact on your body, but it can also have a negative impact. I bet you’ve heard of panic attacks, even if you haven’t experienced them yourself. During panic attacks your body goes on alert mode for no actual reason and nobody actually knows (including doctors) what the real reasons behind them are. But what they do know is that they are real, and during those attacks your body’s adrenaline levels can spike up to 2.5 times or more.

Now, if you feel you might be an adrenaline junkie, what could you do?

Horror movies
You don’t need to start with jumping out of an airplane. A good scary movie (and I don’t mean THE Scary Movie, that’s a parody) can be a good enough start for you. Of course, depending if they make you feel scared even for a moment at all. These days there’s lots of crap out there. But in addition to the quality of the movie it also depensd on the environment. Watching the good horror movie alone in the dark at 2 am on a cold winter night might be the best in my opinion. As for which movies to see – just to name a few, you could check The Others, The Ring, The Exorcist, The Eye, 28 Days Later, The Blair Witch Project.

Do something you’re scared of
What you should do depends a lot on a person. For some, just asking a girl out might do the trick, or maybe singing karaoke in a bar, giving a speech in front of a big audience. And these are just a few things to consider – as mentioned, it all depends on who you are and what you’re afraid of. Or maybe you’re afraid of having other people read your writing, then you could try writing some fake news (the good kind) and wait for readers feedback (there will be a rush).

The adrenaline sports
That’s the most obvious suggestion. You could simply go jump out of an airplane (of course, don’t forget the parachute), go bungee jumping, cliff jumping (of course, make sure you know the waters below).

The money things
Another way of getting your body to produce adrenaline might be, at least for some people, playing poker, or trading stocks, or playing online lottery. While these things might not sound like something that could actually make your body produce adrenaline, believe me when I say that at certain times while playing a hand in poker near the end of a tournament, or hearing the second lottery number that went your way…you will feel the rush.

Or maybe just breathe
That’s right. You can also cause adrenaline rush by simply breathing. You just need to take a few short and rapid breaths and feel an increase of your heart rate and your overall energy levels.
